Reporting Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Are you a quoted company affected by mandatory GHG reporting requirements?

On 20 June 2012, the Government announced mandatory company reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions by quoted companies. From April 2013, quoted companies will have to start collating data for reporting in 2014. Verification of your report will give confidence to your reporting both internally and externally.

As an organisation, you may already publicly disclose your greenhouse gas (GHG)* emissions, carbon and sustainability data. Pressure is increasing for organisations to understand and report this information in the interest of stakeholder decision making.

LRQA can verify your data and information, whether this is greenhouse gas emissions data or a full sustainability report.

The following diagram will help you determine a suitable verification route for your organisation.

GHG Flow Chart

We design our services with our clients in mind. Our Health Check service which is entirely free of charge is easily accessible to all organisations. The tool is designed as a simple checklist requiring 'yes' or 'no' answers for you to clearly see how you are progressing with verifiable data and information. At the end of the questionnaire, you will get a percentage giving an indication of the status of your reporting.

*Protocol GHGs include carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, methane, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, sulphur hexafluoride. Examples of non-GHG data and information include waste, water, society and economics.
