LRQA's Policy Towards Consultants
Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) was formed in 1985 by Lloyd’s Register to meet the market need for independent, third party certification of standards. Today the LRQA brand is universally recognised as symbolising integrity, impartiality and professionalism. We believe that also providing a consultancy service is incompatible both with this philosophy and our role as a certification body.
However, we do have a register of consultants searchable by geographical area and areas of interest that is available on request (0800 783 2179). All consultants are independent and there is no commercial arrangement with LRQA. We support our registered consultants with free of charge events which offer CPD hours, and a section of the website www.lrqa.co.uk/myLRQA with useful data and newsletters and other supporting material.
What does this all add up to? We believe that by selecting LRQA as your provider of management system certification, your approval will be recognised and valued wherever you wish to trade in the world.
For further information on LRQA’s policy to working with consultants, you can also read a letter on the subject written by by Mike James, Business Director for Management Systems, published in Quality World, 2002.
