LRQA launches new service for BS 15000

Leading global certification provider, LRQA has launched a range of assessment services for organisations needing to gain compliance to the new IT service management standard, BS 15000.

BS 15000 is applicable to all sizes of organisation who are involved in the provision of IT service management services and those wishing to benchmark their existing IT service management services. Importantly, the scheme allows for independent verification by a third party auditing body recognised by the scheme owners and managers, The IT Service Management Forum (itSMF), an internationally recognised forum for IT service management professionals.

LRQA was one of the first bodies recognised by the itSMF to deliver an accredited service. In addition to accredited certification, the service offer includes a range of support services including pre-certification options to compare the implemented management system to the requirements of the standard.

The standard easily enables integration with other recognised standards and schemes such as ISO 9001, the quality management system standard and BS7799 information security. Gerry Ashton, IT and telecoms sector manager comments: “We have developed a flexible service offer to ensure we can provide the most appropriate solution for the client. This allows us to deliver either a standalone audit to BS 15000 or to encompass other standards and schemes within the visit, such as ISO 9001 and BS 7799 for those organisations that have an integrated system.”
