LRQA ISO 14001 client wins prestigious environmental award

Office equipment supplier, Christchurch-based Euro Office Equipment Ltd has beaten off stiff competition from over 60 businesses to win the prestigious Environmental Excellence category of the 12th annual Dorset Business Awards. The award sponsored by BP is given to the organisation which can best demonstrate environmental excellence in all aspects of its business.

Euro Office was the first LRQA client to achieve ISO 14001 under the LRQA Small Business Scheme and doing so in less than 12 months. The company based its submission around the benefits that its certified environmental management system has given the company.

The EMS plays a significant role within the Key Performance Indicators. Indeed, Michael Hodge, Managing Director credits the development of certified management systems to the turnaround in fortunes for the company. “Together with our ISO 9001 certification, ISO 14001 has transformed Euro Office Equipment from a loss-making business facing stagnation to a profitable, forward-thinking company with efficient and effective management systems.”
