As a leading provider of business continuity certification and training, LRQA has once again decided to sponsor the BCM World Conference and Exhibition following on from the success of our involvement in the 2012 event.
The Conference is the premier event in the business continuity calendar and attracts practitioners from a variety of industries and areas both in the UK and overseas. With a packed Conference calendar offering delegates the latest news, tools and techniques from the world of business continuity, the Conference provides an ideal platform for discussion and debate.
And in 2012, much of this debate surrounded the international publication of the latest version of the BCM Standard, ISO 22301. The Conference became a focal point for discussion with Rob Acker, LRQA’s BCM Lead Assessor taking to the main conference stage to deliver a presentation on the transition from BS25999. He also delivered a summary of the findings from a comprehensive Survey, undertaken by the BCI and LRQA into attitudes towards ISO 22301. The Survey found that the ISO brand was seen as a key driver providing a common language for international trade and co-operation.
Rob later took part in a panel discussion which also included LRQA client, Wendy Arrowsmith of National Grid giving a client-perspective of transition arrangements her organisation were taking.
“With the publication of ISO 22301, recognition of a management system based approach to business continuity has never been higher. We had unprecedented levels of interest from delegates at the event in 2012 with many companies looking at the value that certification can bring to their business,” declares Marie Merry, Marketing Manager.
“We are therefore delighted to announce that we have once again become Gold sponsors of the event and look forward to welcoming delegates to the Exhibition later this year.”
