LRQA has achieved accreditation from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to provide certification services to ISO 50001, the international energy management system standard.
This accreditation spans all of LRQA’s major markets across Asia, EMEA and the Americas and will allow LRQA to continue to build market share for what is fast becoming one of the most popular standards.
According to the latest ISO survey, the number of ISO 50001 certificates has seen a remarkable increase of 332% year on year when comparing 2011 with 2012.
Commenting on the news, Steve Williams, Deputy Technical Director of LRQA said: “LRQA has been delivering accredited assessment services to organisations choosing ISO 50001 to drive energy efficiencies and cost savings since the launch of the standard back in 2011. This full scope accreditation from UKAS builds on our existing regional accreditations and opens up new and exciting markets and opportunities for our organisation.”
UKAS accreditation by UKAS means that LRQA has been assessed against internationally recognised standards to demonstrate their competence, impartiality and performance capability.
