We are delighted to announce that Nuvia has become one of the first companies in the nuclear sector to successfully achieve certification to ISO 9001:2015 with our registration body Lloyd’s Register (LRQA) since its release in September 2015.
Globally, there are over one million organisations in over 170 countries certified to ISO 9001, all needing to transfer to this new standard over the next three years.
ISO 9001:2015 is the first major revision of the standard since 2000. Developed by the ISO Technical Committee the standard has been revised using the common management system framework introduced by Annex SL, which is the high level structure and common text for all new and revised ISO management systems standards. Some of the new requirements include organizational context, risk-based thinking, the importance of top management engagement and the need for process and policy.
Nuvia is particularly proud to be leading the way in this area, as it not only enables us to deliver industry leading levels of service to our clients but also allows us to make a positive contribution to society. To find out more about the revised standards - ISO 9001:2015 an ISO 14001:2015.
Commenting on this achievement our CEO Keith Collett said, "this is an excellent result and thanks go to all those who were involved in the build up to and during the transition visit"
LRQA’s Lead Auditor Mike Geldard expressed his thanks to all personnel involved in the audit which took place 3 - 6 May at the Risley, Harwell and Westlakes offices. Mike also praised the ongoing work to "enhance the quality management system and develop a practical approach capable of managing identified risks and opportunities that is tailored to meet customer, stakeholder, business needs and the requirements of the new standard."
