	Changes to the European Medical Devices Directive Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC has recently undergone review by the European Commission. Changes, which will come into force in March 2010, have been published in an amending Directive – 2007/47/EC. Link to download

	DOPW . . . Not just a drop in the ocean to LRQA UKAS has granted LRQA UK the requested extension to its scope of accreditation against EN 45011 to now include the Dispersed Oil in Produced Water (DOPW) Trading Scheme. This scheme verifies the amount of oil in water that is returned to the sea from drilling operations and UK DOPW verifiers have to complete a formal report, in a similar way to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS).
