ISO 14001 using PRiSM

Using LRQA’s own six-staged approach, PRiSM, is a convenient alternative to the two-stage environmental management system assessment. PRiSM allows you to build an additional certified management system onto an existing system at your own pace using your available resource. To achieve ISO 14001 using this route, you will need to hold ISO 9001 certification with LRQA or be prepared to transfer your UKAS-accredited certification over to us at 'no extra cost'.

Your LRQA assessor will work with you on a different part of your environmental management system each time they visit. We will then issue a Statement of Commitment following each successful stage and an ISO 14001 certificate following a successful final audit stage. This means you have documentary evidence of your progress to demonstrate your environmental intentions to your stakeholders which allows you to quickly gain the benefits from implementing an EMS.

How can ISO 14001 benefit my organisation?

Certification to the internationally recognised EMS standard, ISO 14001 is becoming a preferred choice for organisations looking to demonstrate their environmental credentials. Implementation of a robust EMS is an effective way of minimising your environmental risks, meeting legislative requirements and demonstrating corporate governance.

An effective EMS certified to ISO 14001 can help an organisation operate in a more cost efficient and environmentally responsible manner by managing its impacts, including those which it can control and influence while also complying with relevant environmental legislation and its own environmental policy. For more information on the benefits associated with a certified ISO 14001 management system please visit our ISO 14001 product page.
