The FSSC version 4.1 launched in July 2017, reflects a number of developments in the industry that have emerged since version 4 was first launched in December 2016.
The latest version of the GFSI recognised standard introduces unannounced audits and has a focus on food fraud prevention aiming to make the standard even more consistent.
In addition to the scopes of farming of animals, manufacturing of food products, manufacturing of food packaging and packaging material, and the manufacturing of food and feed for animals, the scope of FSSC 22000 version 4.1 has been extended to also cover the Transport and Storage, Food Service/Catering and Retail/Wholesale industries.
