FSSC 22000 Factsheet

In July 2017, the Foundation for Food Safety Certification published the version 4.1 of its international food safety management system certification scheme to include a number of developments in the market emerged since version 4 was released in December 2016.

FSSC 22000 is applicable to all food products, food ingredients, food packaging materials, animal feed and animal food production and this version is aligned with the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements version 7.1 which was launched in May 2017, and it incorporates industry feedback on version 4.

FSSC 22000 version 4.1 has also been evaluated against the European Accreditation (EA) procedure and criteria for the evaluation of conformity assessment schemes.
