Looking for ISO 27001 accreditation, registration or certification?
ISO 27001 accreditation is a term that is often used by organisations in their publicity material following successful assessment to ISO 27001. However, it can be confusing as ISO 27001 accreditation actually refers to the status held by a certification body and it can only be awarded by national standards bodies around the globe.
Here in the UK, LRQA is accredited to deliver ISO 27001 certification by The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). This proves that we have been recognised as having the necessary professionalism and expertise to conduct ISO 27001 assessments. Importantly, it gives additional confidence to your stakeholders that their inforamtion is protected.
Other certification bodies use the term ‘registration’ while here at LRQA we prefer to use ‘certification’ or ‘approval.’
In the UK, we are currently the only certification body to have a full scope of accreditation from UKAS to the five key standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301. This means that whoever you work for – and whatever the industry sector – we have been recognised as having the expertise to provide you with a high level of service.
