The Seafish Training & Accreditation team aim to help improve efficiency, quality and sustainability in the seafood industry by providing help and support with training and certification. They have a network of Seafish approved assessors who conduct on-site assessments for their Fish Frying Skills and Customer Service Skills qualifications. |
With this in mind Richard Wardell, our Seafish Training & Accreditation Adviser, required some independent, third party training delivered to a group of assessors to ensure that future assessments were consistent. Richard was introduced to LRQA Training at an LRQA training seminar event. Meetings progressed with Cheryl Savage, LRQA Major Account & Business Development Manager, to discuss the specific needs and to outline a course structure. The outcome was that LRQA Training delivered two tailored training courses which focused on auditing and auditing techniques; one at the National Federation of Fish Fryers office in Leeds and another at the Seafish office in Edinburgh. The content covered numerous topics including the responsibilities of an internal auditor, how to prepare for an assigned audit and producing audit reports. All of the Seafish approved assessors who have a background in fish and chips provided feedback outlining the usefulness of the training. |
“The Trainer displayed a helpful approach when we discussed what we wanted to achieve from the training. The feedback provided, highlighted that Cheryl had delivered two interactive courses with the delegates all learning something new.” “The training day presented by LRQA Training was most useful and also a really fun experience. The training methods were entertaining and varied, and it really helped make clear the differences between the role of a trainer and that of an assessor.” Mark Drummond, Seafish approved assessor and owner of Towngate Fisheries, Bradford.
