LRQA's Business Assurance Approach
"Our assessor doesn't just look at it from a pass or fail viewpoint, but from the position of continual improvement, offering support and guidance on how we can move our systems forward." QSHE Co-ordinator, Unilever Best Foods.
What matters most, to who matters most!
LRQA has evolved our service offering to deliver what is most important to you. Recent feedback from you gave us a wider picture about the kind of service you would like from your certification body. So, we have evolved our ‘Business Assurance’ approach to meet your requirements.
What is LRQA’s Business Assurance?
We have developed our audit approach to improve your feedback from us on how effective your management system helps control your operational risks. And therefore deliver an improved performance, by reducing risks and meeting your business objectives.
We will continue to verify your system to the requirements of the relevant standard, but our Business Assurance approach builds on the ‘added value’ you already expect from your existing assessment process by:
- utilising themed audits to ensure we look at what’s most relevant to your business and the performance of your management system.
- relating our assessment findings to your operational risks that your management system is helping to mitigate.
- helping you consider your business in terms of the value you give to your stakeholders and identify the risks to determine your assessment priorities linked to your stakeholder needs and expectations.
- discussing issues and risks facing your organisation to develop a deeper understanding of your current internal and external environment.
- relating our assessment methodology and your continual improvement log to the major areas of risk you face and considering how well your management system can continue to meet the needs and expectations of your stakeholders.
How will this affect your assessment?
- There will be no additional preparation work needed in advance of our visit
- Themed surveillance and continual improvement remain an integral part of ‘Business Assurance’
- There are no additional costs for you
- There are no new requirements (standards) for you
- We are not requiring you to have a specific risk management system or a separate risk registers
Your starting point: Designing solutions - our account managers and training advisors will talk you through your options and as your business grows, they'll be on hand to discuss your changing needs.
Next step: Solution delivery - LRQA can deliver any combination of the following services against your chosen standard or scheme criteria. This may be against recognised standards - such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 - or you may have specific objectives to meet which require us to design and develop bespoke assurance criteria.
